Even as a child, I was drawn to medicine; when someone scraped their knee on the playground, I was always the first to run in with disinfectant and a band-aid. After graduating from medical school, I joined a gynaecological-oncology centre in Brno. It was a tough school, I experienced the fate of my patients very much and I still remember some of them. After entering the maternity ward, my work took on a whole new dimension. I found myself at the other end, at the birth of life, and very quickly I understood that I was in the right place. After my son was born, my world was turned upside down. So much happiness, joy and lovely worries that a baby brings to life...I am therefore very happy that I can now help people to experience the joy that the birth of a baby brings to their lives.
