Our journey to happiness was not a walk through a rose garden, but more like Jurassic Park, but with a happy ending we hadn’t hoped for.
The first time when we had the opportunity to talk to the doctor MUDr. Filkova, we began to firmly believe that she would help us make our dream come true. It worked. After seven years of hardship and endless disappointment.
Magical day 21. 9. 2022 (the day my husband and I first met), our perfect embryo was inserted. But no one knew how perfect it would be ;).
It is said that pregnancy is the most beautiful period of a woman – this did not apply to me – incestuous placenta, nausea, fainting, vomiting, lack of appetite, anemia, gestational diabetes.
In 6th week of pregnancy in the emergency room, where we were because of my bleeding, MUDr. Victor announced a wonderful and a bit shocking thing, that our family will not grow by one person, but two at the same time. It was a most special moment, one that is not easily forgotten.

All the screenings turned out fine despite our great fear, the due date was 11.2023 6. 2023. 26. 3. I started to bleed again, by that time they had me at the Grain Market for observation, on Monday 27th 3. 2023 my amniotic fluid started slowly draining at night, which meant – hospitalization until delivery, this lasted 14 days. 9th day 4. 2023 the boys, big in spirit but small in body, decided to see the world through an acute caesarean section under full anaesthesia. David at 07:03 1620g and Vasicek at 07:05. 1360g , the boys went straight to the neonatal intensive care unit, they were breathing on their own and everything was uneventful. Two days later they were transferred to ward 12, where I was in the room with them from Wednesday 4. 12th 2023. It was a beautiful sight and at the same time a sight full of despair at the incubators with the little ones. However, the boys gained weight at lightning speed and started to drink quickly from the breast.
On day 11. 2023 5. daddy picked us up from the hospital after 7 weeks. In four days the boys will be two months old, Davča is 2740g and Vasicek is 2540, they are rascals. Our love may not be running yet, but we can’t wait for our loves to run around the living room ;).
