Antiphospholipid syndrome

Antiphospholipid syndrome (AFS) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by the presence of antibodies against phospholipids, which are components of cell membranes. These antibodies cause increased blood clotting and can lead to the formation of blood clots (thrombosis) in various parts of the body. AFS is also associated with recurrent miscarriages and blood clotting disorders.
